Soaked Moong

भिगोया हुआ मूंग तैयार करने की सामग्री और विधि।

Ingredients and Method to prepare a healthy Soaked Moong.

1. Whole Moong 30g
2. Oil 2.5 ml
3. Heeng 1 pinch
4. Red Chilli Powder 1/4 tsp
5. Salt To Taste
6. Lemon Juice 2 – 3 drops

Instructions:

  1. Soak the Moong:
    • Take 30g of whole moong and soak it overnight in a bowl with triple the amount of water.
  2. Drain and Rinse:
    • In the morning, drain the water and rinse the moong well under running water.
  3. Strain the Moong:
    • Use a strainer to remove excess water after rinsing.
  4. Cook the Moong:
    • Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan over medium heat.
    • Add a pinch of heeng (asafoetida) and let it sizzle for a few seconds.
    • Add the soaked moong to the pan, followed by salt and red chilli powder. Stir well to coat the moong with spices.
  5. Simmer:
    • Cook the moong on medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
  6. Finish with Lemon:
    • Turn off the flame, and add a few drops of lemon juice to the cooked moong. Mix well.
  7. Serve:
    • Serve the soaked and spiced moong hot, either as a snack or as a side dish.
